The technological development of my country’s charging pile industry is in a period of rapid change, and the mainstream development trends in the future highlight the industry’s great emphasis on efficiency, convenience, cost and environmental protection. With the popularity of electric vehicles, the demand for charging piles continues to increase, driving the continuous innovation and upgrading of related technologies. The main technology development trends include the optimization of DC fast charging technology, the improvement of charging voltage, the development of high-power and standard modular charging modules, as well as the application of liquid cooling systems and the trend of eliminating OBC.
DC fast charging technology is gradually replacing traditional AC slow charging technology with its advantages of fast charging. Compared with AC slow charging, DC fast charging can significantly shorten the charging time, thereby improving charging efficiency and user experience. For example, it only takes 20 to 90 minutes for a fully discharged pure electric car to be fully charged through a DC fast charging pile, while it takes 8 to 10 hours at an AC charging pile. This significant time difference makes DC fast charging widely used in public charging areas, especially in highway service areas and urban fast charging stations, meeting users’ urgent needs for fast charging.
The increase in charging voltage and the development of high-power charging modules enable charging piles to support higher-power charging needs, further improving charging efficiency. The development of standard modularization not only helps reduce production costs, but also improves the compatibility and maintenance convenience of charging piles, promoting the standardization process of the industry. The application of the liquid cooling system effectively solves the problem of heat generated during high-power charging, ensures the safety and stability of the charging pile, and reduces the failure rate.
