The total number of dc ev charger in my country has reached 10.244 million, ensuring charging for 24 million new energy vehicles

A recent press conference held by the National Energy Administration introduced that as of the end of June this year, the total number of dc ev charger in the country reached 10.244 million, a year-on-year increase of 54%; among them, there were 3.122 million public dc ev charger and 7.122 million private piles. The total rated power of public dc ev charger exceeded 110 million kilowatts, ensuring the charging needs of 24 million new energy vehicles.

Zhang Xing, deputy director of the General Department of the National Energy Administration, introduced that in the first half of the year, the dc ev charger volume of new energy vehicles nationwide was about 51.3 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 40%. This year’s “May Day” holiday single-day dc ev charger volume on highways hit a record high.

In order to create an inter-city dc ev charger network that effectively meets the long-distance travel of new energy vehicles, the National Energy Administration, together with the Ministry of Transport, issued the “Notice on Further Improving the Service Guarantee Level of dc ev charger on Highways during Major Holidays”, and continued to increase the layout of dc ev charger. As of now, a total of 27,200 dc ev charger have been built in highway service areas (including parking areas), basically covering all provinces in the country.

The National Energy Administration organized some counties and townships to carry out the construction and application of dc ev charger. More than one-third of the provinces in the country have deployed dc ev charger to all townships, which has strongly supported the development of new energy vehicles in rural areas.

According to reports, the National Energy Administration issued the “Guidelines for the Preparation of Electric Vehicle Charging Facility Layout Planning” to guide local governments to scientifically plan construction scale, network structure, layout functions and development models to better meet dc ev charger needs in different fields and scenarios.

At the same time, it also accelerated the application of vehicle-grid integration and interaction. The National Energy Administration guided local governments and related enterprises to carry out supporting policy research and technical verification for vehicle-grid interaction. Shenzhen, Guangxi and other regions promoted the aggregation of vehicle-grid interaction resources to participate in the power market and demand response, effectively reducing peak loads and promoting the consumption of new energy.

In the next step, the National Energy Administration will continue to promote the construction of a high-quality dc ev charger system to assist the green and low-carbon transformation of transportation and the construction of a modern infrastructure system.
