Now many people who buy houses will think about whether it is close to the subway station, whether it is close to the shopping mall and school. These are some considerations. I think whether there is an wallbox electric car charger may become one of the considerations in the future."

Currently, the authorities have funded the installation of more than 1,200 wallbox electric car charger. By the end of this year, it is expected that one in every five non-landed private homes will have wallbox electric car charger. The authorities plan to subsidize 50% of the installation costs of up to 2,000 charging points.

In addition, based on feedback, LTA will waive the registration fee for wallbox electric car charger used for education and research and development to promote innovation.

In the first half of this year, newly registered electric vehicles accounted for nearly one-third of all new car registrations, up from 12% and 18% in the previous year and last year.

LTA said that there are currently about 18,000 electric vehicles in Singapore, accounting for 2.7% of the total number of cars.
