China Charging Alliance: Public charging piles increased 47% year-on-year in April

The operation of public charging infrastructure in provinces, regions and cities shows that the public charging piles built in the top 10 regions of Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Shandong, Hubei, Henan, Anhui, Beijing and Sichuan account for 70.12%. The national charging power is mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hebei, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Shandong, Fujian, Henan, Shanxi and other provinces. The power flow is mainly to buses and passenger cars, and other types of vehicles such as sanitation logistics vehicles and taxis account for a small proportion. In April 2024, the total charging power in the country was about 3.94 billion kWh, an increase of 160 million kWh from the previous month, a year-on-year increase of 47.3% and a month-on-month increase of 4.2%.

The overall operation of charging infrastructure: from January to April 2024, the increase in charging infrastructure is 1.017 million units, up 15.4% year-on-year. Among them, the increase in public car charging stations is 251,000 units, up 10.3% year-on-year, and the increase in private charging piles installed on vehicles is 767,000 units, up 17.1% year-on-year. As of April 2024, the cumulative number of charging infrastructure nationwide is 9.613 million units, up 57.8% year-on-year.
