On March 13, Sinopec Group and CATL New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Beijing. Mr. Ma Yongsheng, Chairman and Party Secretary of Sinopec Group Corporation, and Mr. Zeng Yuqun, Chairman and General Manager of CATL, witnessed the signing. Lu Lianggong, member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Sinopec Group Corporation, and Tan Libin, Co-President of CATL Market System, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.
According to the agreement, the two parties will promote the demonstration and application of optical storage and charging microgrid technology. Relying on the joint venture, we will accelerate the development of battery swapping business for passenger vehicles, and at the same time explore the feasibility of battery swapping for commercial vehicles in the layout of integrated energy stations. In terms of technological innovation, the two parties will jointly promote the formulation and revision of standards related to battery applications (such as energy storage, battery replacement, etc.), and jointly carry out research on methodology and reliable data calculation of the carbon footprint of the entire life cycle of petrochemical products. In terms of energy storage, the two parties will cooperate in various fields such as industrial and commercial energy storage, energy storage power supply for refining and chemical companies, and energy storage replacing diesel generator power supply. CATL will use its advanced energy storage technology to help Sinopec save energy and reduce carbon emissions.
During the signing ceremony, the two parties had in-depth exchanges on further strengthening cooperation in the fields of new energy, new chemical materials, technological innovation and other fields. In the future, they will give full play to their respective advantages and work together to make greater contributions to promoting the green, low-carbon, and high-quality development of the energy industry.
“New productivity itself is green productivity.” CATL will work with Sinopec Group to lay out the upstream and downstream and entire industry chain ecology in the field of carbon neutrality. Continue to strive for “new” and continuously expand the “green” circle of friends.
